Who's to blame?

Obesity is a very complex issue in this country. I have come to understand that there is not one single thing or person to blame. The government is definitely not doing Americans any favors by heavily subsidizing corn, meat, and dairy instead of vegetables and fruits or letting huge companies like PepsiCo or McDonalds influence the information submitted to the public on nutrition. However the corn, meat and dairy industries provide a lot of jobs and money. The same is true for major food companies. However the information on how to eat healthy and economically is definitely out there. Ultimately what people choose to fuel their bodies with is an individual decision. Being healthy in this country right now definitely has to be a conscious lifestyle choice people have to make for themselves. Maintaining a healthy weight not as easy as it should be, and the government could do a lot to change that, but certainly it's not impossible.
